Grants availableI noticed this section has no entries in it yet - well there are a few grants energy-wise. The Low Carbon Buildings grant started earlier this year and looks more holistically at applicants - so you need to consider insulation and low energy lightbulbs as well before being eligible. The energy savings trust has full details at http://www.est.org.uk/housingbuildings/funding/lowcarbonbuildings/
There are also grants specific to Scotland and Ireland, and others concerned with traffic and congestion. Too much to go into here but you can see a summary at my site http://www.earthpeace.co.uk/Funding.htm.
I keep this as up to date as possible, but it's always possible to miss things so if there's anything missing or incorrect do contact me!
All the best

Hi Gill,
Thanks for the post.
Do you know if there are any additional grants that can be applied for over and above that of the EST LCBP for renewable energy projects in schools?

Hi Paul,
No - I'm afraid I can find no evidence of grants specifically for schools - however the LCBP does, I think, cover communities also - which would include schools. You could also search here http://www.est.org.uk/myhome/gid/ which is an interactive system where you can find local initiatives. It may be that your local authority has a particular bent for schools.
Sorry I can't be more help than that.
Would be interested to hear how you get on though,
Gill
