Reva G-Wiz.

From the Daily Telegraph.
Its range is 40 miles from a battery capacity of 9.6kWh. Charging efficiency will be about 70 per cent, so a full charge will take about 14kWh (units) of electricity, and average UK CO2 output from gas, coal, nuclear and renewables is about 0.5kg/kWh. Thus the G-Wiz is responsible for 7.3kg of CO2 every 40 miles (64km), or 114g/km.

The petrol Smart emits 113g/km and the VW Polo 1.4 diesel 119g/km, so we may assume a practical electric car will emit at least as much CO2 as its diesel equivalent.

I've thought about an electric car for the future.

If you have a green energy supplier then 0g per km.

I can generate 22kwh on a good day, so in theory could charge a car from the panels on my roof. Now that really does lower the CO2 per km!

However i think the way to go could be an electric scooter which would take less charge.

At the moment we have a diesel smart LHD we get about 80mpg. I'll check what the g per km are ( my wife's into cars) and post later.
