These are our outputs

So far after 9 days these are the weather conditions and outputs.

Date weather conditions kwh produced
14/04/2006 mixed /sun /showers 8.5
15/04/2006 cloudy /rain pm 4.5
16/04/2006 white cloud /sun /overcast 9
17/04/2006 sun with some cloud 13
18/04/2006 sun a little cloud 19
19/04/2006 mainly cloud , sun later 11
20/04/2006 cloudy /rain pm 5
21/04/2006 mainly cloud , sun later 11
22/04/2006 sun all day 21
TOTAL 102 kwh

Electricity imported from the grid over this time period ... 16kwh

Today we were producing near on 3000watts constantly, this meant we could stagger throughout the day but not at once:

boil 20 litres of water using a 1600 watt element (tea urn)
Mow the grass 1150 watt motor
Vacumm the house 1600watt motor
Use a circular saw to cut kindling 1200 watt motor
run the washing machine twice (dont know what the wattage was)
use the microwave 1000 watts

plus run all the usual low wattage appliances such as freezer, fridge, stereo etc.

We did this without using ANY elecricity from the grid. What's more because we received 5 per kwh for energy generated we were actually paid for using these appliances!

We still must have exported plenty of clean electricity.

On 5th May my local Conservative MP will be visiting my house to see the PV in operation. I know what shall be saying to him... Anyone else got any suggestions?

Was just wondering if you could post some figure for outputs during the current heatwave..... Very Happy

Hi,
Sorry been a little slack when posting outputs on the website. However during the heatwave when it was dawn til dusk sunshine we were producing 20kwh per day. When particially cloudy it is around 17kwh. However remember hotter does not result in more output; less infact due to higher electrical resistance.

We've just had a 6kw wind turbine installed - would you be interested in output figures.

Also - thanks for websites advice on ROCs and Surplus energy buyers.

Since installation of my 1.72Kwp solar PV system on 10/11/06 I have generated 186 Kwh of electricity.

Hi gc_bus,
Good news about your system. I guess you are finding that the kwh per day are just beginning to increase as the days grow longer, you should be generating more than 186 kwh in a month soon!
Have you applied for ROCs yet? Ok you won't make a fortune but a little exta cash always helps to recoup the costs.
gc_bus

Hi - yes, it's on the up and up now the days are getting longer. My system is rated to generate 1580 kwh per year but I'm hoping for closer to 2000 Smile Last week I started the ROC application process - hope you're doing ok with yours? How long did it take?

How well does it work

Hi: new to the forum and I'm glad your systems seem to be going ok.
I was looking at the info from gc_bus on the site and see the inverter is installed in the loft, the company that make the Fronius unit dont recomend its installed up there because of the heat in the summer as it can restrict the output. You might need to look at that

Could you give some details just for info ie type of turbine, distance from property, estimated m/s etc

Hi ljnni,

Thanks for your comments. I did look at the loft heat potential problem and in my loft all is well as the Fronious inverter is installed on a cool North wall. Being mid-terrace helps too with that and having spoken to Fronious they assure me that the unit will cope well with its in-built cooling system too.

Good generating week last week - details on my website at www.solarsogood.org.uk

What system do you have/plan to install?
ljnni

I am in the process of gaining accreditation to install wind turbines and hopefully PV at a later date, so at this stage I am trying to gain as much info from people who have equipment installed and get some "real figures" not just estimated figures.

I am the type of person who likes to give a customer the facts and let them make up there own mind, as I am not in the business of trying to sell them something thats not right for them.
I am an installer not a salesman

My PV system

Hi Everyone

I had a 1.8 kWp system installed in March 2004 and have kept records of the output over all this time. It produces approx 1600 kWh annually with the output rising slightly each year.
